Music on a Monday

There is something about music that deeply stirs my soul.  Some songs more than others, but always different emotions, ideas or responses are evoked in me.

I could probably post a different song each day, and not run out of songs for years.  But I won’t-I promise!  But I am going to post a different song each Monday, a song that means something to me.  I have very eclectic taste when it comes to music, so some songs might make you cringe or roll your eyes.  Some might make you laugh or cry.  But they will all be songs that pull on my heartstrings, in one way or another.

This first song is one that has been playing over and over in my mind for the past week.  I had first heard it as a child, but had forgotten all about it until a few years ago when I was helping my sister, LeeAnn, make a CD for a friend of hers.  It is a song that postures me before God with a heart of overwhelming gratitude, awe, purpose and humility.  I pray that your heart is blessed by the truth in this song!

There are so many things about life that I want to share with my children, and this is simply my way to collect everything in one place.

  1. So funny how paths cross. I am reading through your posts and thinking yes, that’s me too! You should read my journal, haha, and you would see it too! I love music, it is my life. Well, maybe not my life, but it such a deep part of me. Words and music move me in such a way as nothing else ever has, and it is my favorite form of worship. When i listen to worship music, in the quiet, I can just feel God’s presence and I love that! Thanks for sharing this song, I have not heard it in forever!
